Trout Brook Trail Greenway

 Habitat Enhancement Planting Project

 9am - 12:00 noon

  Saturday, Sept 24th

 light rain or shine

Volunteers will plant native vegetation (flowering shrubs) to enhance habitat for wildlife and migratory songbirds in the woodlands between Elmwood Community Center and the Trout Brook Trail

This project was initiated by Boy Scout Troop #146 and ALSO welcomes citizen volunteers, including you !

We will provide plants, gloves, tools and appreciation. If you prefer, bring your own tools (with identification markings)

Sign-in at the REI tent located on the Trout Brook Trail

find the lower parking area of 1106 New Britain Avenue,

 ELMWOOD COMMUNITY CENTER, West Hartford
or find the Trout Brook Recreational Trail

just south of 868 South Quaker Lane

We will be planting between Elmwood Community Center and

the Trout Brook Recreational Trail

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to a tag sale, the upper parking area of the  Elmwood Community Center will be congested.

Considr walking or bicycling from Beachland Park, cross South Quake Lane, (carefully) and look for the paved recreational trail along the river (starts just south of house #868). This site is downstream of Beachland Park/South Quaker Lane at the trial link to Elmwood Community Center.

This is a nice opportunity for you to figure out where this relatively new recreational trail is located, so that you can encourage elected officials to continue to extend it towards West Hartford Town Center and the East Coast Greenway.
