About The Event
Join us as we ride bikes, skates, and other person-powered machines down the Oceanfront Bike Path in Virginia Beach and say no to more offshore drilling and yes to developing Virginia's amazing offshore wind potential. Former delegate and Navy Captain Joe Bouchard will lead the ride with us.
Where: 40th Street end of the Oceanfront bike path, next to the boardwalk
When: 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 24th, 2011. At 11:30, we will kick off the ride from 40th Street to the Fishing Pier at 17th Street.
Details: Families and non-bikers welcome! Act simultaneously with thousands of people around the world as we all stand up on the same day to say that it is time to move from the dirty fossil fuel technologies of the past toward the clean energy technologies of the future!
Looking for a longer ride? Eco Cycling has rides leaving from the East Coast Bicycles locations in Ocean View and Ghent at 9 am. Details here: http://www.moving-planet.org/events/us/ecocycling-ride-beach/1151
