Richmond- Moving Virginia Toward Offshore Wind Power
About The Event
The time for wind energy is now! Virginia can move away from coal toward our best clean energy opportunity; offshore wind power. We need Dominion’s help, along with the Governor and General Assembly, to make offshore wind a reality.
That’s why on September 24th we want YOU to join us as we ride, walk, skate from Dominion Virginia Power's headquarters in downtown Richmond to the State Capitol grounds to show our support for offshore wind power. We will leave pinwheels at the steps of the Dominion headquarters to ask them to do more. We will then ride bikes, skates, and other person-powered machines to the capitol to show our support for their efforts as well. From the State Capitol, we'll head over to the Maggie Walker Governor's School for music, food, speakers and fun!
Make signs, decorate your bikes, strollers and rollerblades to look like wind turbines and get ready to join us!
BONUS: Recruit five friends to come to the Richmond Moving Planet event and get a Virginia Moving Planet t-shirt! Round up five friends who want to come and send us a list. Email each person's name, email and phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org.
