Moving Planet Event:

Bicycle ride

About The Event

Moving Planet in Richmond:  Civic Center to Civic Center

To celebrate the day in Richmond, there will be a bike ride in the morning, which will end early enough so that people will have time to get to San Francisco for the main event.

Please RSVP to the San Francisco event as well! (and for more details about the event, speakers and music)

We will gather at Richmond’s Civic Center at 8:45am on Sat, Sept. 24, and leave at about 9:00.  We will ride from there to the Bay Trail, proceed to Miller Knox Park, go through the tunnel, which has a bike lane separated from traffic, to Pt. Richmond, and on to the Richmond Greenway via Garrard Blvd. and W. Ohio.  Almost all the route is level, but there is a steep section up to the Seaview development.  Riders can choose to skip that part and meet the rest of us in Pt. Richmond, but there will be time to walk your bike up the hill, if you prefer (no shame permitted!).  The ride is about 14 miles and will take approximately 1½ hours from the start to Richmond BART.

We encourage you to continue on to San Francisco, but if you prefer, our Civic Center is a few minutes away via Nevin Ave.  Those going to the City will take the Embarcadero exit and go to Justin Herman Plaza, where the ride/march down Market St. will start and proceed to their Civic Center.

Come and join us for a great day and connect with the rest of the world!
