About The Event

A free sustainability fair with distinctive demonstrations, pithy presenters, significant slide shows, a ruinous raffle, a wise master gardener, live music, and all kinds of inspiration for folks committed to living lightly.

Musical performances by singer/songwriter Jim Scott, whose songs further the ideals of ecology, justice and peace 

10:30 Doors Open. Displays Open. Nonprofit and for profit tablers with lots of information about living lightly. New Sunrise Guides for sale! Live Music!!

1:00 Sustainable Portland: Steps We Can Take with Paul Kando, Midcoast Green Collaborative (parlor)

Demonstration at 1:00: Planning Next Years Garden with Joel Leak, Master Gardener and MeIPL Board member (garden)

Demonstration at 1:30: Putting up and Preserving your Food with Cumberland County Cooperative Extension (garden)

2:00 How Teens and their Families can Start their own Local Sustainability Group with Shira and Richard Hollinger (parlor)

Demonstration at 2:00: How to Build Inexpensive and Effective Inside Storm Windows with Sam Saltonstall, MeIPL Board President (garden)

Raffle Drawing will be held at 2:45 and Tabling in the Chapel ends at 3:00!

3:00 Closing Ceremony: The Great Story which Marries Science and Religion for the Well Being of All with Rev. Kitsy Winthrop (parlor)
