About The Event
GreenTown Los Altos is working with 350.org to be a part of a HUGE GLOBAL EVENT on Sept. 24 to move beyond fossil fuels and start solving the serious problem of climate change. Get on your bike or walk with us. Show your support. Here's the plan: We'll bike or walk to a few sites to learn about sustainable projects in our community, including an educational garden at Almond Elementary School, a large solar panel installation at Los Altos High School, the LEED Platinum Packard Foundation building currently under construction, and participate in a hands-on project about water and learn about the impacts of climate change on this precious resource. Mayor Ron Packard will kick off the event, and there will be short presentations by local experts at each stop with time for Q&A. Walkers will participate in three out of the four stops.
Start time will be 1:00 pm and we expect the event to take about 2 hours.
Meet at Hillview Community Center, 97 Hillview Ave., in front of the Parks and Rec Office.
