Slow and steady toward a
Sustainable Planet
Join us in a WALK from Burlington to Montpelier for Moving Planet.
Concerned citizens from across the state will be converging on the State House on Saturday afternoon. They will be arriving on bikes, skateboards, in carpools, trains, buses and ON FOOT.
We will WALK, one foot in front of the other, starting from Waterfront Park in Burlington at noon on Thursday, Sept. 22.
We will arrive in Montpelier in the afternoon on Saturday, Sept. 24. Our route will be along Rt 2 following the Winooski River. We'll stop overnight in Richmond and in Waterbury. Each day's walk is about 13 miles. (YES, You CAN do it!)
Local Motion is arranging for buses that will bring walkers back to Burlington in the evening.
