PEDAL's Car Free Day
Take the Pledge to Move Beyond Fossil Fuels

About The Event
To celebrate international Moving Planet Day which focuses on moving beyond fossil fuels, PEDAL will be holding our Car Free Day event this year on Saturday September 24th. Please dress up your bikes, your skateboards, bring your flags, and let's celebrate a world where we're moving beyond fossil fuels and rebuilding community!
We’ll keep it simple this year, setting off at 2pm from the 'Cake Stand' at the bottom of Marlborough Street on the Prom, and cycling along the Prom to end up at the beach by our potential Turbine Site at Seafield for some brief story telling. Kids welcome – but this year you’ll need to ask your parents to help you to dress up your bikes beforehand!
We'll see if the Porty Rowers will accompany us! And we may try some time trials - seeing how fast a car (need to push it!), a bike, a skateboard, a skiff, and any other mode of transport can move without using fossil fuels!
Some of us will be setting off earlier at 1.30 to cycle from PEDAL's Community Orchard to the Cake Stand for 2pm. You are welcome to join us at the work day and Autumn Equinox celebration at the Orchard anytime from 10am, or just come and join everyone on the Prom at 2pm.
If you plan on coming, please sign up above, and let us know how many kids and adults you are, and what mode of transport you'll be using - Thanks!!!
