Moving Planet Event:

Moving Planet Manitoba

About The Event

Check out our website:

 "If humanity wishes to preserve a planet similar to that on which civilization developed and to which life on Earth is adapted [...] CO2 will need to be reduced from its current 385 ppm to at most 350 ppm, but likely less than that."

We are inviting Manitobans to bring their family, friends and neighbours and join us on bikes, on skates, on a board, or on foot to be part of a global rally to get moving on the climate crisis. This will be a day of family fun, education and solutions for the future of our planet and everything that this wonderful world supports.

Join us at the Legislative Building at 12:00 noon to begin the parade to the Forks.

Parade begins at 12:30 SHARP and is expected to end around 1:15.

Walk, bike or board in the celebration of our Earth, together with;

The Red Robe Women Drum Society Singers, the Buffalo Gals Drum group and the Dancing Spirit Singers who will lead the parade with the sound of the Medicine Drum.

Enjoy the beat with the Flaming Trolleys Marching Band as they Parade alongside.

Once at the Forks, “make your mark” for the planet in the temporary Chalk Art display.

A fun and exciting lineup featuring our First Nations in an inspiring leadership role. Greetings by the Red Robe Woman Drum Singers and Roger Fournier followed by the wisdom of Winnipeg’s Honoured Elders. Our local Youth as well as from Northern Canada and Kenya will shine in the keynote address.

Rock the day with Feed the Birds and the Afterparty.

Troy Westwood presents our keynote address with the help of youth representatives from Kenya and Northern First Nation communities.

Don't miss your chance to win in the 50/50 Draw!

We are inviting businesses and organizations that are moving toward a sustainable environment to exhibit with booths and workshops.

Help out with our Footprint Parade. Learn about climate change and pledge your commitment to this challenge. During the weeks of September 10th through to the 24th simply trace your footprint in chalk on a sidewalk, in a park or on the grounds of your school or workplace. Mark it with 350 and your initials, take a picture and send it to us or tell a friend. As more and more footprints show up in our fair city so will awareness of this clear and present danger to our future and that of our dear ones.

By learning about climate change and pledging their commitment to this challenge, people will trace their footprint in chalk and initial it, similar to a petition.

Proudly sponsored by The Forks - Winnipeg's most exciting and culturally diverse venue!
