About The Event
Carbon Cycle is a 75 km bike ride to the fossil fuel centre of Ontario, a rural area on Lake Erie near the village of Nanticoke where Exxon Mobile produces 25 percent of Ontario’s gasoline and Ontario Power Generation runs the largest coal-fired electricity plant in North America. There’s also a massive US Steel facility there whose coal piles rival those of the OPG plant. Carbon Cycle starts Friday, September 23 from downtown Hamilton. After actions at the fossil fuel facilities, riders will camp overnight before returning to Hamilton on Saturday, September 24 to a reception rally (1-4 pm) in Gore Park in the centre of the city. They will pick up supporting riders on their way back into Hamilton. To participate in or support the ride, register at contact@hamilton350.ca
